Since the 1.12a installation I mentioned should be a legitimate version of the game, I thought it shouldn't be a problem to speak of and I figure it's a real problem if everyone who only has the new client has this issue. For one thing, it actually has the Game.exe and patch_d2.mpq that the TrenShadow guide required to create a 1.14d folder (to have access to both and 1.14d Single Player with RWM). I wiped my standard D2 installation, and tried using that 1.12a install, and it seems to run 1.07 like it's supposed to.
